The latest ‘Leading Your International School Library’ course is set to take place at Dulwich College (Singapore) on the 7th and 8th of May 2026. This two-day workshop, hosted by LYIS, is designed for library professionals in international schools who are looking to enhance their strategic impact and leadership. The course has been carefully tailored for the Asian international school context, making it immediately relevant for librarians from IB, British, American, and other curriculum schools.
The course covers critical contemporary topics, including:
- Using Artificial Intelligence in the library ethically.
- Forging strategic curriculum connections.
- Combating misinformation.
- Designing inclusive learning spaces and programmes.
- Effectively demonstrating the library’s impact.
Participants will leave the course able to define various leadership styles and articulate their contribution to whole-school improvement. They will gain practical strategies for designing inclusive learning spaces and learn how to measure and demonstrate the library’s value effectively.
Sarah Pavey, a highly experienced librarian trainer who will be leading the course, said: “We understand that school libraries are at the heart of international education, shaping inquiry, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of reading. As such, this course is designed for librarians at different stages of their careers and is about empowerment and providing tools that can be used every day.”
