The next 2-day In-person Leading Your International School Library Course will take place at Strothoff International School, Frankfurt, Germany, on the 9th-10th of October 2025.

An immersive and collaborative PD, it is designed for librarians and educators looking to enhance their library leadership skills and maximise their impact within their school library. The most recent library course took place at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, where it was very positively received by all those who attended.LYIS is privileged to have Sarah Pavey, a dedicated and highly qualified professional librarian with over 25 years of experience working in and supporting library leaders in both primary and higher education, leading the LYIS Library course once again. Sarah’s diverse background in both independent and maintained sectors has seen her deliver hundreds of unique library professional development sessions over three decades.

Join Sarah and fellow library leaders in Frankfurt and gain practical strategies, including cultivating a welcoming space in the library and navigating the digital landscape. Additionally, you will take away a substantial amount of resources to help you in your role and make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Eugene Armand Rossouw – Head of Library Services, Achieve Xiamen International School, said of the course,

“I learned through the LYIS Library Leadership PD that giving students a voice in how the library functions leads to deeper engagement. We now involve students in book selections, library displays, and even policy decisions. This has created a sense of ownership and excitement about using the library as a learning space.”
