Welcome Nicholas Belcher as the Founding Chair of the LYIS Society of International School Principals

by LYIS

📣 LYIS is delighted to introduce Nicholas Paul Belcher NPQH as the Founding Chair of the Leading Your International School Society of International School Principals.

🇲🇾 Nick is the Principal at The International School @ ParkCity – Malaysia.

With 21 years of experience in the U.K. and international education, uniquely spanning Primary, Secondary, State and Private sectors, Nick brings a tremendous lens to Leading Your International School.

He is heavily invested in and promotes ethical leadership, which is family-based and promotes student opportunity to ensure that the whole child stays engaged through their educational journey and exploration.

A proud Yorkshireman, says Nick “We all learn together, all of the time”, adding “We are in a privileged position to support and guide others and to make a difference”.

Nick counts music, coffee and Yorkshire Tea as his personal passions (you’ll find most of his photos with a mug of Yorkshire Tea in the background)! He is an outstanding endurance athlete and has taken part in many triathlons and endurance events over the years. He is also an avid chef, describing himself as a “kitchen DJ”!

“Having been fortunate to have been surrounded by and mentored by amazing people in education, I can only ever hope that one day other people will say I have been able to do the same”.

“We should be investing in learning together, it is a strength as a leader and we should invest in it emotionally to protect, value and preserve the model of leadership to inspire and support others”.

A key aspect of Nick’s role will be helping us to develop our awareness and understanding of the evolving role of the international school principal and in being a powerful professional advocate to LYIS members.

We wish Nick all the very best in the coming school year ahead and in being an incredibly supportive professional advocate to the growing Leading Your International School membership base.
