Welcome to #LYIS25

by Juma Nyamori

In just over a month, the Leading Your International School (LYIS) family will be gathering in Foshan, China for #LYIS25. This promises to be one of the most impactful educational thought leadership conferences in recent times. On behalf of the Board of LYIS, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to our delegates—fellow educators and leaders—to the beautiful city of Foshan.

Foshan Eton House International School (FEIS) has graciously opened its doors to host us, offering its beautiful campus as the backdrop for this remarkable event. We are incredibly grateful to Hendri McIntosh and the entire Foshan Eton House family for their commitment to providing an unforgettable experience steeped in China’s famed hospitality. I, for one, am excited to immerse myself in this setting with a community that is passionate about making a tangible difference in international education.

The heart of any conference lies in the wisdom and experience of its speakers, and #LYIS25 is no exception. I want to express my deepest gratitude to the team of highly experienced presenters who will be leading various sessions. These experts have been working diligently to prepare thought-provoking and practical material, ensuring that each session offers actionable insights for attendees.

I am personally honored to be leading a session on “Innovating Access to International Education.” This session will explore practical tools and strategies for ensuring equity and inclusion in education on a global scale. As we navigate the complexities of the 21st century, it is critical that all students, regardless of their backgrounds, have access to high-quality educational opportunities. I look forward to hearing diverse voices and perspectives on how innovation can help us achieve this goal.

The #LYIS25 conference promises an array of exciting elements designed to enrich and inspire our delegates:

  • Expert-Led Sessions: Expect sessions led by some of the most experienced and forward-thinking leaders in international education. These sessions will cover a wide range of topics that address the evolving challenges and opportunities in our field.
  • Cutting-Edge Topics of Discussion: From Cross-Cultural Leadership in Education to Building an Effective Knowledge Management Framework, our discussions will be timely, relevant, and future-focused.
  • Interactive Learning: This conference is not just about listening; it’s about engagement. Delegates will have ample opportunities to participate in workshops, panels, and interactive activities that foster hands-on learning and collaboration.
  • Networking Opportunities: Perhaps one of the most invaluable aspects of #LYIS25 is the chance to connect with a diverse global community of expert educators. Whether through structured networking events or informal conversations over coffee, you will have the opportunity to forge meaningful connections and share best practices.
  • Public Speaking Coaching: For those looking to enhance their presentation and communication skills, #LYIS25 will offer specialized coaching sessions. This is an excellent opportunity to refine your public speaking abilities, whether you are a seasoned speaker or just starting out.

As we count down to #LYIS25, I encourage each delegate to come with an open mind, ready to engage, learn, and contribute. This conference is not just a platform for professional development—it is a community where we come together to inspire and be inspired. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in international education.

Thank you once again to all who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a reality. I look forward to seeing all of you in Foshan soon. Here’s to a transformative and unforgettable #LYIS25!
